It's hard not to notice those 🟩🟩⬜🟩🟩 posts all over social media. Like hundreds of thousands of other people, Wordle quickly became part of my daily routine. While waiting for the next puzzle each day, I thought it would be fun to recreate the game in Houdini.

The setup is surprisingly simple—just 36 nodes in total.

Here's how it works. After one person sets a word in the "Answer Word" font SOP, the other person enters their guesses in the "Guess Here" null. If the letter exists in the answer word but is in the wrong location, the letter turns yellow. If the letter and the location were both correct, the letter turns green.

The key discovery was that Houdini's Font SOP generates a @textsymbol attribute that is unique to each letter, making it easy to compare characters.
