The goal of this project was to simulate a production-style FX shot and prepare for the types of tasks commonly assigned to an FX artists. I created a scene featuring a combination of common production effects, including smoke, rain, water ripples, and bubbles.
The project also served as an opportunity to practice a more involved Nuke compositing workflow. This included techniques such as using distortion maps to affect the city reflection in the pond and separating out individual light passes for finer control during compositing.
